Sip with Intention: 3 Herbal Tea Infusions to Nourish Body & Spirit

There’s something deeply sacred about preparing a cup of herbal tea. It’s more than just a warm beverage—it’s a moment of mindfulness, a ritual of care, and a way to reconnect with the healing wisdom of plants.

At Sand & Sage, we love incorporating herbal tea infusions into our daily wellness routines, especially when made in Grateful Tea Company’s beautiful 40 oz teapot—a perfect vessel for creating large, shareable blends or sipping throughout your day. Its generous size is ideal for steeping nourishing herbs, creating a deeper, richer infusion.

  • Today, we’re sharing three intentional herbal tea recipes: each one designed with purpose, whether you're supporting immunity, lifting your mood, or simply grounding into your day.

✦ 1. Soothing Defense: Licorice Root + Cat’s Claw

This earthy, sweet infusion is supportive for your immune system and perfect for transitional seasons. Licorice root is known for its harmonizing and anti-inflammatory properties, while cat’s claw has been traditionally used to support immune health and joint function.

Recipe:

  • 1 tbsp dried licorice root
  • 1 tbsp dried cat’s claw bark
  • Optional: a pinch of cinnamon for warmth

Instructions:
Add herbs to your teapot and pour 40 oz of boiling water over them. Cover and steep for 20–30 minutes. Strain and enjoy warm. (Note: Avoid licorice if you have high blood pressure unless advised by a practitioner.)

✦ 2. Heart & Mood Uplift: Peppermint + Hibiscus

This vibrant infusion is a feast for the senses—cooling peppermint meets tart, ruby-red hibiscus to create a blend that feels both refreshing and revitalizing. Perfect for sunny afternoons or when you need a little lift.

Recipe:

  • 1 tbsp dried peppermint leaves
  • 1 tbsp dried hibiscus petals
  • Optional: a squeeze of honey or agave to balance the tartness

Instructions:
Steep herbs in your 40 oz teapot with just-boiled water for 15–20 minutes. Strain, pour over ice for an invigorating iced tea, or enjoy hot with a hint of sweetness.

✦ 3. Grounded Glow: Chamomile + Orange Peel + Ginger

For our third recipe, we wanted something soothing yet bright—a blend that helps you ground down while awakening your senses. This trio of chamomile, orange peel, and ginger is perfect for winding down your day or centering your energy.

Recipe:

  • 1 tbsp dried chamomile flowers
  • 1 tbsp dried orange peel
  • ½ tbsp dried ginger root (or 3 thin slices of fresh ginger)

Instructions:
Add the herbs to your teapot, fill with boiling water, and steep covered for 15–25 minutes. This calming brew supports digestion, eases tension, and brings a gentle citrusy warmth to your cup.
